Whitmer conspirator Barry Croft sentenced to more than 19 years in prison

He was sentenced to nearly 20 years behind bars for his role in a kidnapping plot targeting Michigan Gov. The North's drone infiltrations Monday have raised questions over the South Korean military's readiness against potential drone-based provocations and led it to craft defense measures, including a plan to stage counter-drone drills Thursday. He sought to assuage public concerns over the possibility of North Korean drone attacks, stressing the military's defense network is "sufficient" to deal with armed drones. The South's Joint Chiefs of Staff briefed the committee on a series of measures to counter threats stemming from North Korean drones.

Putin said he made the decision for a cease-fire after a request from the Moscow patriarch of the Orthodox Church, who is known as Kirill. The Wagner Group has been implicated in war crimes in Mali and Syria. Human Rights Watch accuses the Wagner Group, of being behind the March 2022 Moura massacre, in which the mercenary group, alongside allies from the Malian army, killed more than 300 civilians.

"MONUSCO condemns the cowardly and despicable attack against a church in Kasindi (North Kivu) causing the death of several people and many injuries. The U.S. Congress describes ADF as an "armed group primarily active in the Democratic Republic of Congo."

FBI director blasts Russia, China at World Economic Forum for hacking, cyberattacks

"The Chinese government has a bigger hacking program than any other nation in the world," Wray said, according to a statement released Thursday by the FBI. "And their AI program is not constrained by the rule of law and is built on top of massive troves of intellectual property and sensitive data that they've stolen over the years." Right now AI technology is still in its infancy but is being rapidly developed. It is widely known that AI technology has been increasingly exposed to hacking on popular smart devices such as the Amazon Echo to listen in on private conversations. Wray said that the threat of China being allowed to further develop its AI technology is something the FBI is "deeply concerned about."
