CF Montreal is still in the experimentation phase of camp as it continues pre-season preparations in Florida. "The results are important of course, but it’s not the most important during the pre-season," said Losada from the team's camp in Fort Lauderdale. Everyone is expected to play minutes over the course of the club’s three final friendlies this week before a week of preparation ahead of their Feb. 25 season opener in Miami. Despite the questions surrounding Montreal’s attacking corps, the other side of the ball appears to be at its most solid in years. Montreal will face off against Inter Miami in a friendly on Feb. 15 before their final two games — both on Feb. 18 — against Colorado Rapids 2 and the Tampa Bay Rowdies in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Sault College updates sexual violence and harassment action plan

Two formal complaints and reports of sexual violence by Sault College students between May 2021 and April 2022The university or college experience - with its academic pressure - can be stressful enough without the added trauma of being a victim of sexual assault. A report to the Sault College board of governors at its meeting held Thursday, with data collected between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022, states that there were two formal complaints and reports of sexual violence by Sault College students. The report also shows that supports, services and accommodations relating to sexual violence were requested and obtained by enrolled students six times. The Sault College board of governors was brought up to date regarding the school’s Sexual Violence and Harassment Action Plan at its Thursday meeting. It was also announced that Sault College is partnering with Centennial College and Durham College in an Empowerment through Skills Program to help women enter the workforce in Tanzania.

First period struggles sink Greyhounds in trip opener

After falling behind 3-0 before the game was 11 minutes old, the Soo Greyhounds dropped a 6-2 Ontario Hockey League decision to the Peterborough Petes at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday night. “It’s probably up there for one of our poorest games,” said Greyhounds captain Bryce McConnell-Barker. “When you go down quickly like that, it’s tough,” added Greyhounds coach John Dean. Midway through the period, the Petes went up 3-0 as Nick Lardis potted a rebound past Schenkel after the Greyhounds netminder initially stopped a redirection by the Petes forward.
