BRAHIM Diaz shot AC Milan to a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday which gave the seven-time European kings control of their Champions League last-16 tie. Milan came into their first knockout in the competition since 2014 with their season in the balance after a horrible run of results in the past month which left their Serie A title defence in tatters. Milan triumph"We could have scored two more goals, but the game was hard-fought, they caused us problems," Milan coach Stefano Pioli said to Mediaset. There was very little goalmouth action from that point on until De Ketelaere came on in the 77th minute, the Belgian attacker nearly doubling the hosts' lead almost straight after coming on. However Spurs couldn't break through a backline well marshalled by Simon Kjaer which helped inflict a second career defeat to Milan for coach Conte.

Sascoc outraged by SA Tourism's proposed R1 billion Spurs investment

THE South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has condemned South African Tourism's (SAT) proposed R1-billion deal with the UK-based football club, Tottenham Hotspur. In a hard-hitting statement, Sascoc, the controlling body for all high performance sport in South Africa, pointed out that the magnitude of the proposed investment is disproportional to the investment the South African government is making in national sport. Sascoc's statement reads: “The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee, has noted the media reports and subsequent statements on the planned South African Tourism's three-year proposed R1-billion deal with the London-based football club, Tottenham Hotspur. “Our members have expressed absolute outrage and disagreement at South African Tourism's stance on the matter. These include the Under-19 Women's Cricket World Cup, Netball International Quad Series, Table Tennis World Contender Cup, Table Tennis World Cup, Women's T20 Cricket World Cup, Indoor Hockey World Cup and Netball World Cup, to mention just a few.

Lazarus Amukeshe and Regina MurphyLANGER Heinrich uranium mine owner Paladin Energy has announced Duke Energy, a leading Fortune 150 North American power utility, as an offtaker once operations at the mine resume. Paladin Energy owns a 75% stake in the Langer Heinrich mine, while the Chinese National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) owns 25%. In a recent statement, Paladin Energy said site contractors and the mine's personnel have removed redundant equipment in preparation of process upgrades and improved plant maintainability. Paladin already has an existing offtake agreement with CNNC Overseas Uranium Holding Limited (CNNC) for up to 25% of the Langer Heinrich future life-of-mine production. Tax professionals have always cautioned that arrangements between connected parties as with Langer Heinrich and CNNC carry certain tax risks.
