Five observations: Pacers blow 15-point lead in loss to LakersINDIANAPOLIS -- The Pacers blew a 15-point lead in Tyrese Halibuton's return from injury and fell 112-111 to the Lakers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday night. The Pacers have dropped 11 of their last 12 games and fell to 24-29. He scored 11 points in the first quarter on 5-of-8 shooting and had 16 points and six assists by halftime. He had 23 points and nine assists through three quarters, but he and the Pacers fell off hard in the fourth. One of his 3s punctuated a 9-0 third-quarter run that put the Pacers of up 13 and they never trailed again. Shutting them down wasn't realistic and neither Turner nor anyone else the Pacers put on them did. But Turner made sure the Pelicans didn't win the frontcourt battle going away with an exceptional game on the offensive end and the defensive glass. He scored just one first half point on 0 of 4 shooting with all four of his first-half attempts coming from 3-point range.

Last week, Bobby Rahal told IndyStar that the team is prepared to ramp up to a fourth 500-only entry in 2023. Those additions to the field give us 14 cars for the 500 before we get to Ganassi – a team that has long claimed it will remain four full-time cars in 2023. But it will do so without Sage Karam, the American driver who’s manned one of DRR’s 500 cars in eight of the last nine races.

The Indiana Supreme Court on Thursday will have a hearing on one of two legal challenges to the law passed in last summer's special session. “That began in the special session in Senate Bill 2,” he said, “and we will continue to do that.”Senate Bill 2 was the companion bill passed during the special session in July to boost social services. One Democratic lawmaker has also filed a bill to reestablish licensure for abortion clinics and return to the state’s previous abortion guidelines, allowing abortion up to 20 weeks post fertilization. The Indiana General Assembly began meeting for their long legislative session last week and are expected to finish in late April.
