Conservative councillors whose “negative campaigning” was linked with antisemitic abuse against a Labour rival have failed to clear their names. Social media users told Cllr Ozarow, who is Jewish, to “go to the gas chambers” and labelled him a “Jew c***”, and messaged him directly, the investigation found. The advert falsely suggested Cllr Ozarow backed Hezbollah - a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK. The independent KC did not find any evidence that the Conservative councillors had joined the online antisemitic pile-on against Cllr Ozarow directly. Cllr Ozarow won a by-election in the Borehamwood Kenilworth ward in 2021.
Sophie Schofield took Ruby-Maye Jackson to visit Nuttall Park and the two-year-old was ecstatic to discover the night of rain and wind had cleared the trees - leaving the ground littered with conkers. Once the pair had lugged the conkers home, Ruby-Maye posed for series of hilarious photos of her lying across her massive haul. Sophie, from Bury, Greater Manchester, said: "When we went to the park, I never thought she'd be bringing home 1,000 conkers. She collects conkers anytime we go on a walk, she's always looking for conkers. "Ruby-Maye is going to make a load of decorations and we'll put them around the garden centre at the shop.1 month ago Hertfordshire Mercury
Passengers of EasyJet, Tui, Ryanair and other well known airlines have been left disappointed by the decision. Both are primarily funded by the airlines themselves, although CEDR also charges passengers £25 if their claim is not upheld. Airlines are free to choose which scheme they use, but the majority, including easyJet, Ryanair, Tui, Virgin Atlantic, WizzAir and others, are now with AviationADR. In the first quarter of 2019, 1,490 Tui passengers were awarded compensation by CEDR - 90 per cent of all those who made a claim. This compares to the most recent quarter, when only seven Tui passengers - 14 per cent - were awarded compensation by AviationADR.1 month ago Hertfordshire Mercury

City Commissioners heard loud opposition and support Wednesday to a proposed city policy that would ban homeless camping across Portland. The proposal on the table is a package of resolutions put forward by Mayor Ted Wheeler and City Commissioner Dan Ryan, who oversees the city's housing bureau. Most of the testimony heard Wednesday carried criticisms of the proposal, especially from people who have experienced unsheltered homelessness. Ryan's invited speakers shared disdain for the city's homeless population, accusing the city's poorest for impacting tourism, housing sales, and business patronage. Other realtors shared anecdotes of homebuyers deciding not to move to Portland because of homeless camps.1 month ago Portland Mercury
If God is who you all say he is, He’s a big boy and doesn’t need you to defend him. KCSeems like right-leaning Sound Offers are repeatedly exposing (and striking the nerves of) leftist hypocrite Sound Off sheeple. Patriot54Honest question — why are Joe Biden and Biden voters, Sound Off’s looney leftist liberals, and the entire Democrat Party, so violently opposed to making America great again? It looks like Billy G wants to be the guy that reports Black crime on Sound Off. Publication of Sound Off submissions is at the sole discretion of the editor.1 month ago The Mercury
