The crew onboard a Qantas flight that landed safely after issuing a mayday alert are being praised for the way they handled a "rare" but critical situation. One passenger disembarking the plane told Sky News Australia's Gabriella Power that the pilot informed the cabin of an engine problem when the plane was on the tarmac. A Qantas spokesperson said the aircraft "experienced an issue with one of its engines about an hour from its destination". The man behind the deadliest high school shooting in America’s history was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Wednesday. Nikolas Cruz was 19-years-old when he killed 17 students and staff and injured 17 more with an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida in February 2018. Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooter Nikolas Cruz has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
