An occasional story line in Superman comics was “Bizarro World.” According to Wikipedia, Bizarro World (also known as Htrae, which is “Earth” spelled backwards) was a fictional cube shaped planet home to Bizarro and companions, all of whom were versions of the Superman characters. In popular culture, “Bizarro World” has come to mean a situation or setting which is weirdly inverted or opposite to expectations. When it comes to politics, I feel like I am witnessing a modern-day Bizarro World. Newly elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy currently leads a fractured caucus of 222 GOP members. The incoming GOP House members caucused immediately after the election.
