He therefore added that it was pursuant to the section of the constitution, that the Police Act was enacted, which, accordung to him circumscribed the functions of the NPF. Nzelu noted with concern that there is no place in the said section 4 of the Police Act donated powers to the NPF to act as a commercial entity or money – making organisation. N-Skills: FG trains 1, 830 Master Craft Persons for apprenticeship Programme

The Federal Government has completed the training of 1, 830 Master Craft Persons (MCPs) to boost the N-Skills apprenticeship programme across the country. “This informed the decision to initiate the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) in 2016 as a strategy for enhancing social inclusion. “This led to the introduction of the N-Skills programme, which is based on a certification system and accreditation of training provided through the informal Apprenticeship System anchored by Master Craft Persons (MCPs). “The Ministry selected 1,830 MCPs from the 36 States and FCT for the 6-month apprenticeship. “We piloted the N-Skills programme with the tooling and training of 6,475 youths selected from the 36 States and FCT on Smart Phone Repairs and Service in 2021.

Tension in Abuja over US terror alert

A private school teacher in Lugbe said they were directed not to come to school yesterday, perhaps, due to the terror alert. Meanwhile, it was observed that various worship centres in Abuja have also taken necessary precautions, in response to the terror alert by the US. Many hotels in Abuja, are not taking the security alert lightly as they have put in place measures to forestall attack. She noted that the security alert was not a new thing in the country, adding that their lives are in the hands of God.

Senate charges Pantami to create awareness on new Startup Act

The Senate Committee Chairman, on ICT and Cybersecurity, Senator Oseni Yakubu, gave the charge at the opening ceremony of Digital Nigeria Conference 2022, organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in Abuja.
