While Pratt’s 90.1 coverage grade is undoubtedly impressive, there is a bit of a caveat here. Singleton has had quite the circuitous NFL journey before his stellar 2022 season. Edge defender Frank Clark is almost certainly going to be cut, with his reworked contract still carrying a $20 million salary for 2023. The Chiefs will still need to upgrade significantly at edge defender, as interior defender Chris Jones has done the lion’s share of the pass-rush work over the last few seasons. Murphy’s 2022 season was cut short by a back injury, but the former second-rounder has otherwise been durable throughout his rookie contract.
