U.S. officials are working to determine who launched the three unidentified objects and why, but say they did not pose a threat to people on the ground. Senators, who were briefed on the matter Tuesday, said the latest objects have not been recovered due to difficult terrain and inclement weather on the ground. After Tuesday's classified briefing with intelligence officials, many senators urged the president to speak directly to the country to allay concerns. "There's a lot of information to assess, there's a lot of information to recover. He said at least one of the three objects carried a payload, but declined to give details.
