Post on anarchist site says holes drilled in pipeline to further delay over-budget projectAn anonymous article titled “Treasure Hunt for Coastal GasLink” claims sections of the Coastal GasLink pipeline were vandalized to delay construction. The article published on an anarchist website claims that sections of the Coastal GasLink pipeline have been vandalized over the past few months with a goal to “contribute to the small delays” in the already over-budget project. We covered the holes with fiberglass film, which temporarily prevents leaks in the pipes, but only lasts a few months,” the article claims. “It’s somebody who understands how the logistics of the pipeline work,” said Ross. “We recognize that there are different opinions about projects like Coastal GasLink, however threats of tampering, sabotage, and violence are never justified.”READ MORE: 30 people block RCMP vehicle at northwest B.C.
The statement, from the press service of his catering company that earned him the nickname “Putin’s chef,” came on the eve of U.S. midterm elections in response to a request for comment. It was the second major admission in recent months by the 61-year-old businessman who has ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Video also has emerged recently of a man resembling Prigozhin visiting Russian penal colonies to recruit prisoners to fight in Ukraine. They were indicted as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference. Meghan McDermott of the BCCLA falsely attacked Eby’s comments as, “misleading, immoral and reckless.” She warned involuntary care would violate Charter rights. McDermott also stridently advances the orthodox medical position on involuntary treatment, “All evidence is clear that involuntary drug treatment can cause great harm – even death – and does not save lives.” In fact, important evidence is contrary to this view. BC declared a Public Health Emergency in 2016 after recording nearly 1000 drug overdose deaths in 2015. In contrast, youth with mental health disorders, who have “non-illicit” drug overdoses, receive a full psychiatric evaluation, and are not released until it is safe to be. To abandon these people to potentially overdose or freeze to death alone in the night is callous and inexcusable.4 months ago Kelowna Capital News

The bylaw states ‘illicit drugs’ prohibited from use in public parks include opioids, crack or powder cocaine, MDMA and methamphetamines (the drugs supported in the exemption).27 days ago Kelowna Capital News
The BC Salmon Farmers Association said the aquaculture sector is “heartened” after its round of meetings with Murray. Instead, the sector is championing emerging semi-closed ocean systems — aimed at reducing sea lice and physical interactions between farmed and wild salmon. Semi-closed systems, also in the development phase, are still semi-open, and do little to prevent waste, chemicals and diseases from impacting wild salmon, Chamberlin said. that rely on wild salmon and Ottawa needs to do what it promised, Chamberlain said. “Because that has to weigh into the decision.”Fisheries and Oceans Canada is also asking the public for online feedback on the transition plan until Oct. 27.5 months ago Kelowna Capital News
