Michael Blake Kruse is a Filipino-American actor. He is best known for his role on General Hospital 26.[1][2][3]
Early life
Kruse was born at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and grew up in Conrad, Iowa.[4][5].
Career
In March of 2022, Kruse began a television contract for ABC's daytime drama series General Hospital, as Rory Cabrera, an officer for the Port Charles Police Department.[6][7][8]
Previously, Kruse had a Guest Star role as injured college baseball player Felix Pelgado in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as well as a Guest Star role as antagonist Billy Hanes on Episode 4 of Criminal Minds (season 15) on CBS.[9][10][11]
In a leading role alongside Charles Parnell (actor), Kruse starred as A.J. in the short film Swim (2017) which has amassed over 3 million views since being released on YouTube. [12][13] The film won Best Cinematography, Best Director, and Grand Prize Short at the 2017 Culver City Film Festival in Los Angeles.[14] Swim was also accepted into the 2018 Washington West Film Festival but did not receive any awards.[15] In 2019, the streaming rights of the film were purchased by Cine Sony (Italy) where it aired alongside a collection of short films for Sony Pictures' "Voces Nuevas" initiative.[16][17]
Kruse had a supporting role as Aiden on the short film The Ugly Christmas Sweater which premiered on Lifetime (TV network) in 2017 to mixed reviews.[18][19] He went on to have another supporting role in a Lifetime film called Christmas Harmony starring Kelly Jakle, Adam Mayfield, and Chandra Wilson.[20]
Also in 2017, Kruse worked on an episode of the Megyn Kelly and Michael De Luca-produced streaming series Embeds on go90. Kruse portrayed college wrestler Steve Kemp who attacks Noah, played by Taylor Zakhar Perez, at a party.[21]
In 2019, Kruse appeared in an episode of the historical drama streaming series Strange Angel on CBS All Access which starred Jack Reynor. Kruse portrayed an agape server who erroneously serves the wrong drinks to the party guests of Jack Parsons, which eluded to debauchery. The series was cancelled after its second season.[22]
In 2021, Kruse worked with director Nanea Miyata for the second time on the thriller feature Dead In The Water which premiered on Lifetime Movie Club and aired on Lifetime (TV network) to mixed reviews. The film starred Catherine Lidstone, Peter Porte, and Sam Krumrine.[23][24]
Later in 2021, Kruse appeared on an episode of the Snapchat series, Everything's Fine starring Dylan Gelula and produced by Pete Wentz.[25]
In addition to film and television series, Kruse has worked on several TV commercial campaigns for companies such as McDonald's, Lexus, Prolia, and Ross Stores.[26]
Personal life
Kruse graduated high school at BCLUW Community School District. He also played baseball and graduated from Central College (Iowa) of Pella, Iowa.[27]
Kruse married Cara Skramovsky on August 3, 2019. They one have daughter together.[28][29]
He has desires to work with film directors Clint Eastwood and Peter Berg.[30]
